Program purpose

The purpose of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership Products to Markets Program is to support growth of Alberta’s agricultural industries by supporting the development of New Products and/or Processes, commercialization of products in New Markets, and expansion into local, domestic and international markets.

Eligible activities include:

Projects must include eligible activities and expenses that directly relate to the development of New Products/Processes and/or access to New Markets.

For funding purposes, the Program has the following two streams with separate budgets: Stream A – Activities 1 to 7; Stream B – Activity 8

Stream A Activities

1. Product and Process Development

2. Label and Package Development

3. Processing Capacity Expansion

4. Market Development

5. Export Preparation and Planning

6. Product Demonstration

7. Activities to Support Aggregation and Distribution of Food

Stream B Activity

8. AF-led Outbound Trade Initiatives

Am I eligible for this program?

Eligible Applicants are as follows:

· Bio-Industrial Processors

· Food Processors

· Processor Organizations

· Producer Organizations

· New Entrants

· Producers who are:

o Adding value past primary agricultural production

o Involved in international market development activities

If you are applying as a:

· Bio-Industrial Processors

· Food Processors

· New Entrants

· Producers who are:

o Adding value past primary agricultural production

o Involved in international market development activities,

Please use the Individual” Application.

If you are applying as a:

· Processor Organization, defined as a not-for-profit agency, board, commission, association, Indigenous governments and communities, or societies operation in Alberta:

o That is actively engaged in representing Processors;

o Whose membership includes individuals and businesses that are Processors adding value past primary agriculture production

· Producer Organization, defined as a not-for-profit agency, board, commission, association, Indigenous governments and communities, or societies operation in Alberta:

o That is actively engaged in representing Primary Producers;

o Whose membership includes individuals and businesses that are Primary Producers adding value past primary agriculture production

Completed SIGNED Applications and all required documentation can be:

Here are some suggestions that may help you complete your application:

· Read and understand all of the information in the Program Terms and Conditions

· Ensure you meet eligibility criteria

· Ensure you are applying for eligible activities and eligible expenses by reading the Funding List

· Provide all required documentation to assess the eligibility of your project

· Submit your completed SIGNED Application Form, along with all required documentation.

Failure to submit a completed Application with all supporting documentation may result in a delay in being placed in the queue for assessment and delays in the approval process. Incomplete Applications will not be processed
